In June of 2020 Rotary International’s Board of Trustees voted unanimously to make Supporting the Environment the Seventh Area of Focus of Rotary.
In March of 2021 our club, at the direction of then President, Dirk Lorenz formed its own Environmental Action Committee. Our first order of business was to come up with a name for ourselves. The REACT Committee was what we voted to adopt and we had seven members join on day one.

Mehreen Rosman, a sophomore at Washington High School, and the winner of the Richard D. King Rotary Youth Speech Contest at the Niles Rotary Club, moved on to the District 5170 level, where she won first prize! Congratulations, Mehreen!

On Saturday, May 01, the Niles Rotary planted ten California Oak Trees in Fremont’s Central Park in celebration of Earth Day.
